The occasion was their one-year anniversary open house, inviting the community in to learn more about this unique little jewel of a business at 1211 Rickmeyer Dr, behind the Shell Station on highway 23 and Rolling Meadows Drive. According to the owner, Ann Sinisi, among the values that are behind the Green Cafe coming into being are using seasonal, local, organic or chemical-free and unprocessed ingredients whenever possible.

Originally posted on June 24, 2015. The newly reimagined Old Pioneer Road Gift Shop at the Historic Galloway House and Village has become the newest member of Fond du Lac Fair Trade Town. The executive director Mary Patricia Voell and a staff of volunteers have worked through the winter and spring to bring new products and a new look to the shop.

In our local area, Just Fare Market, Fond du Lac Fair Trade Town, Moraine Park Technical College, UW-Fond du Lac, and Marian University are connecting to educate and celebrate with a number of special events throughout the month. We encourage everyone to attend these important events to learn more about how our support of artisans and farmers in developing countries can truly make a difference. All events are free and open to the public.

Fond du Lac Celebrates One Year as a Fair Trade Town

Originally posted on March 4, 2014. One year ago, Fond du Lac earned the designation “Fair Trade Town” – the 32nd in the nation and the third in Wisconsin, following Madison and Milwaukee. As a Fair Trade Town, Fond du Lac encourages its citizens to be conscientious consumes who advocate for the principles of Fair Trade. Fair Trade helps farmers and craftspeople in developing countries build sustainable businesses that positively influence their communities, providing fair wages, environmentally sound methods, and community improvement projects.
